Research Associate, Functional Genomics and Proteomics Laboratory, University of Chittagong
Molecular geneticist working on the genetic basis of complex disease, trained in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Chittagong. He generates his own data — DNA extraction, PCR and qPCR, Sanger sequencing, targeted panels and whole-exome sequencing on patient cohorts — and interprets it computationally.
At the Functional Genomics and Proteomics Laboratory he runs three bench-led cohort studies: autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and ESBL-producing Escherichia coli. He holds a National Science and Technology Fellowship, and is the founder and chief instructor of BioPC, one of the largest bioinformatics training communities in Bangladesh.
